The 319th Field Artillery, an element of the 82d Division, (later re-designated as the 82d Airborne Division) was ordered into active military service March 25, 1942 and reorganized at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana.
Pictured below is a group photo of C-Battery, 319th Field Artillery, taken May 1942. Captain Clyde W. Lyon, Commanding.
They would later move to Fort Bragg, North Carolina as a direct support to C-Battery of the 82nd Airborne Division Artillery.
