Joseph Clowry

Joseph G. Clowry served with Headquarters Battery 319th Glider Field Artillery 82nd Airborne Division through D-Day, Market Garden, the Battle of the Bulge, and the final push into Germany. The 319th held the distinction as the first U.S. Airborne glider artillery unit to fire against and engage the enemy. He survived a violent glider crash in Normandy and returned home highly decorated after nearly three years of service.
